Extensive refurbishment works to transform a large five storey family home within the Campden Hill Conservation Area, Notting Hill are nearing completion.
With the project on track for a final handover in August, the complete refurbishment of this large family residence in Notting Hill is progressing swiftly towards completion. Working as the lead consultant, Alex Tart Architects has been responsible for preparing and co-ordinating design information throughout the project. Early on we also succeeded in applying for and obtaining the vital planning approvals required to carry out the works within this sensitive Conservation Area.
The project programme has been condensed, with schematic design having only commenced in September 2018. An early appraisal of the project priorities led to the decision to submit two planning applications whilst works began simultaneously on site. By conducting open discussions with both the council and neighbours, we were able to secure both planning approvals swiftly from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Proceeding in this manner enabled the programme duration to be shortened considerably.
To realise such an ambitious programme, clear and responsive communication between the design and site teams has been crucial. We are looking forward immensely to seeing the completed project.
